The 3rd Trimester's Investigation -- What you Drink Will Make You Think -- has started! Last week students began a building background knowledge about something they use everyday, but probably think very little about.
To start things off, students were presented with a problem: 4 unknown samples of water. One sample from the water fountain, one from the fish tank, one from the toilet, and one from bottled water. The students were told they would have to drink one. What would you do or want to know about each sample before you decided which to drink?
What followed was a discussion of water quality and water usage. How does the quality of water depend on its intended uses?
Stay tuned this trimester as students get into the lab, test water samples from our community, and create experiments.
