Parts per Million

| |

How would you create a solution with only one part per million of food coloring? That's .0001%! Some might use one drop of food coloring and then slowly count out 999,999 drops of water, but not at Kurt Hahn.

In lab today, students learned how to dilute solutions by a factor of 10 to create solutions from 10% to .000001% food coloring.

Observing color changes

Making sure the math is right

Recording observations

How would you explain what a million is to a young child?
